Dr. Jeff Lichtman is Professor and Lucille Weidman Director of the newly established Department of Graduate Jewish Education & Special Education at Touro College & University. Jeff is well-known for his more than 30 years of visionary leadership, during which he grew Yachad into a world-wide force for inclusion and innovative programs serving children and adults with disabilities. A school psychologist with many years of experience in both regular and special education settings, Jeff has Masters’ degrees in psychology and special education from St. Johns University and NYU. He received his undergraduate and rabbinical training from Yeshiva University, where he completed his doctorate as well. His areas of expertise include individual and group counseling, school & organizational leadership, social skills development, and teacher training. Jeff is Founding Dean of the IVDU School which provides innovative and individualized education to children with a wide range of learning needs. He is a member of the NJ Department of Education Non-Public School Advisory Commission and was President of the Kushner Hebrew Academy. He resides in West Orange, NJ with his wife Helen, their children Daniella & Steven, and their five grandchildren.
