Moshava Ba'ir NJ Voc 2017 - Last week of camp!
Moshava Ba'ir NJ Voc 2017 - Last week of camp!

This summer really has flown. 8 weeks ago we were all a little awkward as we got to know each other and now we are finishing the summer as friends! This week was jam packed. On Monday we learned how to make balloon animals. Our specialities are dogs and swords. Much of our time both Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon was spent making these creations for the camp’s carnival on Thursday afternoon. On Wednesday we went on one big final trip. We went to The Castle where we did bumper cars and go karts and rides and arcade games and much more. It was a great way to spend the day together! On Thursday we went back to helping the camp get ready for their carnival. Our main job was to help them pack popcorn bags to be passed out. For all of our hard work getting ready for the carnival, the camp bought us chipwich ice cream sandwiches as a treat. Friday was spent helping the office pack up. Finally, we had to say goodbye. But hopefully we will stay in touch and see each other very soon!! -Noah

DVAR TORAH: PARSHAT RE’EH
By Avrumi Kalikstein

The name of this week’s Parsha, “Re’eh,” means “see”. At the beginning of the Parsha, the Torah says to see Hashem’s blessings and curses in front of us. What does Hashem mean, that we should “see” them? There are 3 categories of how one observes the Mitzvos. The first one is listening to Hashem as a higher authority. The second category is intellectually appreciating the Mitzvos and the reward they bring. The highest level is seeing the good in Hashem’s commandments and the good that comes from doing them. Hashem wants us to reach the third and highest level, and gives us the power to do so, and that’s what the parsha is telling us. During our summer at Moshava Bair, we have seen the impact our actions have had on others. It has been a very positive experience working at Moshava Bair!
