YBY1: July 16: Rosh Hanikra, Kibbutz Matzuva & Kfar Kedem

The morning began with davening in a beautiful theater and a large delicious breakfast at the new hotel called the Eden in Zichron Yaakov. Then we all took an hour drive up north to the Rosh Hanikra located on the Israel-Lebanon border. Once we arrived we took a breathtaking cable car ride down to the sea level. There we watched an informative video and toured the graddos. Graddos are a series of narrow and beautiful caves with slashing water from the nearby Mediterranean Sea. When we were done there we took another bus ride to a small moshav (village) where we were able to customized and enjoy fresh homemade pizza. After lunch we traveled another hour to Kfar Kedem where we entered an ancient world where we rode on donkey and learned how to make and bake pita. There we enjoyed a wonderful siyum made by staff member Shimon Cohen which allowed allowed us to consume Israeli style food. At night we played “Capture the Counselor” where in teams we had to search for 5 different staff members who were hiding and get stamped by them while avoiding other counselors with erasers. It was a lot of fun and now we are winding down and preparing for bed. We cannot wait to see what tomorrow has in store!
