YBY1: July 19: Misgav Am, Tel Dan & Kayaking on the Jordan River!!

On this fine Wednesday morning we woke up to the best breakfast on this trip so far, and it’s not cereal and milk – pancakes. We loaded onto the buses and stopped at Mizgav Am, approximately an Aaron Rogers Hail Mary throw away from Lebanon. We heard an inspirational speech from a 77 year old man (from Cleveland, Ohio) who has been fighting for Israel since 1967; 11 years ago he started the kibbutz.

After seeing the scenery of our friendly neighbors, we headed to a water trail where we were greeted with lunch. Our falafel lunch was juicy and nutritious, thanks to the extensive tehina added – very juicy! We proceeded to make the similar Hail Mary distance to be greeted by a large group of Israeli children seemingly splashing cold water onto one another – we gave them a warm Yad B’Yad welcome – ‘bloop’ was not played.

Following our refreshing dip, we quickly retreated to the buses and headed towards Kfar Bloom Kayaking.  The single rapid gave us quite the fright, but don’t worry we were all very safe. Quickly drying off, we headed back onto the buses and made the journey back to Hispin.

Dinner as surprising as ever was schnitzel. The fun and exciting night activity of Glow in the Dark Dodge Ball, hosted by Tal Singer and DJ K®, ended with David Wolkoff’s birthday party, with lots of fun and simcha dancing.

Tomorrow will be our first day without doing water activities, however we will be moving Wolkoff’s birthday party to a boat in Tiberius – As the youngsters say “it will be lit” and we can’t wait!
